The COMPLEAT by Gerber Gear: lightweight camping, hiking, and cooking utensil set.
When I go on a thru hike I always have a spork setup with me usually consisting of a long spork. There are some who have slightly more complex cook setups, so I started to think if there was a lightweight setup that could complement these more complex setups and account for the different variations people might have. What I eventually stumbled upon was the COMPLEAT by Gerber Gear.
The COMPLEAT is a stackable fork, spoon, spatula, and multi-tool weighing a total of 2.3 oz. The spatula doubles as a cutting and cleaning tool while the multi-tool covers all your cooking needs by becoming a can opener, bottle opener, vegetable peeler, and serrated package opener.
The COMPLEAT is cleverly designed to not only stack up to create a small form factor for packing away, but also to stack and create new tools. By stacking the spatula with the fork or spoon it can then become tongs.
All the tools are made of strong heat-resistant materials and with Gerber’s reputation I dont think it will break anytime soon. I have to disclose that I have not used this product and all knowledge is based on research. Based on said research the COMPLEAT seems to be getting high reviews and ratings. At $28 I hope to pick up the COMPLEAT in the near future and write an in-depth review.
